The Department of Health (DOH) in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Asingan and Department of Education (DepEd) is now ready for the month-long school-based immunization program starting today August 1 until 31.
Grade 1 students will be given MCV, Tetanus-Diphtheria (TD), while HPV vaccination for Grade 4 or ages 9-10 and grade 7 children will be immunized against measles- rubella (MR) and Tetanus-Diptheria (TD).
Free HPV vaccination is optional. Children will need to get their parents’ consent first, hence it is critical that parents keep an open mind.
All vaccines for students are given free of charge.
August is the School-based Immunization Month. This year’s theme is “Bakuna Para sa Kabataan, Proteksyon sa Kinabukasan.”
