RHU to distribute insecticide-treated screens to public schools in Asingan. June is Dengue Awareness Month.
The Rural Unit of Asingan had installed insecticide-treated screens starting at North Central Elementary School. Asingan was not included in the Dengue watchlist and zero casualties of dengue cases in Pangasinan for the first quarter of 2019.
Sanitation Inspector and Dengue Coordinator Ms. Sharon Villacarlos Manghi said the screens were treated with insecticides that can keep out disease-carrying mosquitoes. Ms. Sharon also said the screens, which were installed on windows, or doors of the classroom are effective up to five years.
The program, which is implemented by DOH, RHU Asingan, Department of Education, Department of Interior and Local Government in Asingan, is part of efforts to prevent the spread of dengue cases.
