Historical Background
According to settlers, the barangay was formally divided as “SITIOS” of BOLO and TOBOY. M year passed, the families of PASCUA, MALINAB and VILORIA who are from MAGSINGAL, ILOCOS SUR migrated to Sitio Bob. This brought a greater population within the proximity, thus, a need to convert the Sitio ‘s into barangay was requested and formed into resolution.
The resolution was then approved on March 27, 1970 thni the assistance of Basilio Campos, who was then a Barangay Captain of Toboy and Mayor Leonardo Carbonel.
The word PALARIS was named in honor of Mr. Felicisimo Palaris who was then a Regional Supervisor of the Bureau of Public Schools since he offered his lot for the construction of a Community School building.
Geography
Barangay Palaris is located on the northern part of the Municipality of Asingan. Barangay Bobonan bound it on the north on the south by Barangay San Felipe Sur, Binalonan, on the west by Barangay Calepaan and Barangay Toboy on the east. It is the last barangay in the northern portion of Asingan
Barangay Palaris is approximately 5.1 kilometers away from the municipal town of Asingan.
Political Subdivision
Barangay Palaris is subdivided into four (4) zones wherein handled by Kagawads. Two (2) Kagawad per zone.
