Mayor Heidee Chua said the project, which is jointly implemented by DOLE and the local government, aims to assist ambulant vendors in making their existing livelihood grow into a profitable and sustainable business and consequently increase the income of low earners.

“Apart from the actual push cart received by the vendors, each beneficiary is provided with capital assistance that will enable them to increase, upgrade, and diversify their products and services, and market these to more buyers or customers.,” She added.

The mayor is hopeful that the project will help the vendors, who comprise a big bulk of the informal economy, grow their existing livelihood into sustainable and profitable enterprises.
